The role

Our clients have a few great opportunities for driven and passionate Legal Assistants to join their firm across a range of teams on a permanent, full-time basis. You will be part of a friendly, collegiate and hard-working firm and will be supported with on-the-job training and professional development. In this role, you will receive ongoing mentoring and development from experienced Partners, as well as support from the wider teams.

The core responsibilities of the role includes:

  • Drafting correspondence and various documents.
  • Preparing precedents, affidavits and other court documents.
  • Preparing physical and electronic briefs to solicitors and barristers.
  • Drafting costs agreements and initial letters to clients.
  • Collating and indexing disclosure documents.
  • Filing court documents.
  • Scheduling meetings, mediations and conferences for solicitors and clients.
  • Preparing and issuing tax invoices to clients.
  • File management, saving emails and correspondence to files.
  • Answering and making phone calls.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including clients, Lawyers, Barristers and Principals.
  • Opening new files and other general administrative tasks.

 

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about the legal industry and takes pride in their work, knowing that their contribution plays an important part and is what makes a firm run smoothly.

In addition, they will possess the following:

  • 1 -2 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary is ideal, but is not necessary.
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding time management and a strong commitment to consistency
  • Confidence in building lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • A natural inclination for taking initiative.
  • A self-starter and also thrives in a collaborative work environment.
  • Familiarity with iManage and Practice Evolve would be considered advantageous.
